Older Adults Morning Tea

Local people and residents of Hostels in the surrounding area, meet for a delicious morning tea provided by volunteers. Please phone the House if you would like to come.

Eating Disorders (Anorexia and Bulimia) Family Support Group

With initial funding from Dept. Human Services an Eastern Region Group was established at Coonara to provide support and education for parents, family members and friends of those suffering from eating disorders.

A group offering support and hope for any women over 17 who identify with having issues around eating.

Book Discussion Group

For all those interested in reading and sharing good books with others. Members of the group choose from a wide range of books supplied by Ferntree Gully Library.

First Wednesday of the month during school terms.
1.00pm - 2.45pm.
$10 per year.

Grow Group

GROW is a voluntary association of people who are having difficulty in coping with personal problems of living. They meet each week to assist and support one-another through personal friendship and a special program. GROW groups are free, voluntary, anonymous, confidential and non-denominational.

Every Wednesday during school terms.
12.30pm - 2.30pm.


International Womens Group

A social/recreational group for women from other countries. The group goes on outings and plans activities as interest demands.

Second Wednesday of the month during school terms.
10.00am - 12noon.

Provides individual, couple and family counselling. 
Tuesday mornings between 9.30 and 12.30 at Coonara House.

Any people who would like to come along and discuss issues of concern to consumers of mental health services are welcome to meet with people who have had similar experiences. Meetings held at Coonara Community House
